This Milwaukee church continued to grow and occupy larger facilities, as early Pentecostal believers held tent meetings, street evangelism campaigns and conferences in the city auditorium. They also fed the poor, visited the jail and prayed for the sick.
Since space for Sunday School had not been included in the building at Seventh and Meineke, the adults gathered in the Sanctuary, and the children congregated in an addition on the side of the building. In 1937, God began another work when a portion of the congregation branched off to found a new church. They formed the Glad Tidings Temple and in 1948 founded what is known today as Parklawn Assembly of God.
The congregation planned a new building, at 56th and Burleigh, to include seating capacity of 450, a nursery, nine Sunday School classrooms, a pastor’s study, and elevated orchestra platform, a choir loft and baptistery. The cornerstone for the new building was laid on July 3, 1953.
Due to the lack of Sunday School and parking facilities, the congregation decided to purchase property in Brookfield in 1970. The present church building stand on that property, located at Calhoun Road and Burleigh Place.
The new building was dedicated October 4-6, 1974, and Milwaukee Gospel Tabernacle became Brookfield Assembly of God. In 2005 we became Victory International Fellowship and that’s who we continue to be today.
